Your Fully Questions, Answered (FAQ)
What is a saddle chair?
-
Saddle chairs -- also called saddle seats and saddle stools -- are named for their resemblance to equestrian saddles. They put your body into the same position you’d be in if you were riding a horse: legs apart, knees dropped below the hips, and pelvis tilted forward.
Why are saddle chairs good for your back?
-
Saddle chairs put your body into a posture that’s proven to be the most ergonomic. This posture allows your spine to rest in its natural S-curve—also known as a “neutral spine”—with your weight distributed properly to the lower half of your body. This provides maximum support, alleviates strain on your low back, and prevents injury. Learn more.
How should you sit in a saddle chair?
-
While there are different styles of saddle chairs, they are all designed to take the guesswork out of healthy sitting. Their distinctive shape means you simply sit and allow your legs to naturally drape along the sides. Find the right one for you.
